I was contacted by Downtown Long Beach Associates in February about shooting a time-lapse of the reclamation of an unused piece of land in the middle of downtown Long Beach. This film was shot over the course of 31 days. In addition to the main camera perched on top of a parking structure across the street, I made eleven site visits to capture additional camera angles necessary to flesh out the story.

Envisioned more as a process oriented narrative vs. the traditional construction time-lapse film, I took a few chances in live shooting, post-production and sound design.

Thanks to Charlie Hockett for originally contacting me and Sean Warner for letting me do my thing. Your support was crucial to the success of this endeavor.

Enjoy.

Michael
