As I prepare to attend a five night, four day marketing boot camp I saw a familiar pest in my kitchen this morning….ants, thousands of ’em. Crawling over counter tops, inside the dishwasher, trash bins and compost bucket. As I followed the trail to their entry point, it occurred to me that these little pests have been useful. They’ve helped me find dozens of cracks and openings that needed to be sealed. With a ten year-old son and cat in the house there is no way I’m going to spray. I caulk. So in spite of the hassle it’s been helpful. As a bonus my son has been getting practice using the vacuum cleaner to suck them up, something he is enjoying. Without realizing it, I’m also training him to vacuum his room…eventually.
SCEP’s have to practice turning negatives into positives and this morning I was reminded of this. As I head out to my boot camp this afternoon, I look forward to all the positive things that will be exchanged during the next four-and-a-half days.
I can’t wait!
